I became interested in women’s health research after struggling with endometriosis throughout graduate school. I learned how medical issues that primarily affect women are disproportionately underfunded. At the NIH, I am working to understand how menopause impacts the risk of developing type II diabetes. My work has been continually interrupted throughout the trump administration, whether from budget cuts, loss of purchasing staff, and the cuts to personnel that has meant the brilliant people I came here to work with have left.
