In the wake of the dismantling of USAID, former USAID employee, Denise Mortimer, picked up a pencil and drew a sketch of her dog. What started as one sketch of her beloved dog, RocketBear, grew into a collection of more than 150 pets. Each one of her pet sketches represents a person who has lost their job under this administration. Denise turned this collection of pet portraits into a social media storytelling project illustrating the diversity and impact of the work of former federal employees through the faces and voices of their pets.
