Julia Licholai

Hello! Thank you for visiting my page. I am an aspiring scientist and artist. More specifically, I am a neurobiology PhD candidate who has 3 portable paint sets. I enjoy sharing cool findings and and the odd histories that make up neuroscience through writing and art.

Research

My PhD thesis revolves around characterizing neurons that control reflexes in the brainstem. I am a student through Brown University with a neuroscience undergraduate degree from University of Washington, Seattle.

Writing

My research experiences include studying cell regeneration in zebrafish, to food intake in mice, to information processing in monkeys. These experiences have provided me with a breadth of knowledge that guide my writing.

Art

I like to play with a range of art mediums, from digital paintings to acrylic on canvas to embroidering. My art often revolve around a scientific theme.
